Behind the Scenes, founded in 2000, has planned events for clients across the globe. Founder Dusky Norsworthy’s experience in executing their visions amid a variety of circumstances, challenges, and constraints is considerable and well-established.
As supply chain challenges gripped the post-COVID economy and snarled event planners’ best efforts to seamlessly execute for their clients, Wilson Public Relations knew the seasoned Norsworthy had plenty of advice to give about pivoting and staying on top. Through the Memphis Business Journal, we helped convey this wisdom.
Our end-goals included:
- To support industry peers, and reassure businesses planning events, that answers existed when it came to navigating COVID-related supply chain issues and pulling off memorable events.
- To reinforce both Norsworthy and Behind the Scenes’ presence on the Memphis stage as an event industry thought leader.
Norsworthy has a wealth of business leadership and event management experience, along with anecdotal evidence on navigating supply chain challenges. But in many ways, as she and Wilson Public Relations knew, this crisis was different.
We drew on insights from the Federal Reserve and the Harvard Business Review to bolster our case, marrying these with her own counsel to clients.
We were eager to reach industry peers, business leaders in Memphis and beyond, and anyone interested in how supply chain issues were having an impact on event and function planning. We also believed this included audiences as diverse as colleges and universities planning for graduations.
In April 2022, the Memphis Business Journal published Norsworthy’s piece. It was featured online and in the print edition, as well as three newsletters. It also reached the events and trade shows category of the Business Journal papers. In addition, Norsworthy received tremendous feedback from clients, friends, and prospects over the course of a few months.
