Earlier this month, our founder and CEO Beth Wilson was featured on an episode of cityCURRENT’s The SPARK – a monthly webcast series dedicated to “powering the GOOD.”

The episode was themed “Stories Filled With Hope” and spotlighted local leaders making a difference. Beth shared the founding story of Wilson PR and why community-centered communication is at the heart of our work.

Wilson PR launched in 2021 after Beth saw a growing need in Memphis for strategic communications that drive real results. In just over four years, our agency has grown in size, services, and scope. From local nonprofits to national brands, Wilson PR now serves clients across a variety of industries by leveraging three core pillars of communication – earned, owned, and shared media.

Beth also shared why our work with nonprofits is so meaningful. Many nonprofits face limited capacity and don’t always have the time, staff, or expertise to amplify their impact. Our team has been proud to help fill that gap. From uncovering powerful stories to elevating awareness campaigns, we believe in the power of community storytelling. This work is also deeply aligned with our core values, and we’re honored to be a part of it.

Beth also offered practical storytelling tips for nonprofit organizations:

  • Tailor your message to your audience.
  • Create two-way dialogue, not one-way broadcasts.
  • Stay transparent and authentic – because people connect with real stories.

If you’re a nonprofit leader looking to boost your visibility and sharpen your media strategy, don’t miss Beth’s upcoming virtual workshop with cityCURRENT. The event, “Get On Board: Virtual Nonprofit Workshop – Mastering Media and Messaging for Nonprofits,” will be held on Friday, August 15 at 9 a.m.

In the session, you’ll learn how to craft compelling messages, confidently navigate media interviews, and use storytelling to grow your reach and attract more support. Interested attendees can reserve a spot here.
